Spirit Review - Taylor Fladgate 20 Year Tawny Port

Spirit - 20 year Tawny Port
Distiller - Taylor Fladgate

Web Review-
Another magnificent and finely-balanced old tawny blend of outstanding richness and complexity. This rare Port is traditionally enjoyed as a dessert wine or at the end of the meal. Ideal for summer drinking, Taylor's 20 Year Old Tawny may be served cool.

Appearance -
The Taylor 20 year port has a deep burgundy coloring. Pouring from the bottle reminds me of a thick syrup. The aroma from a fresh poured glass reminds me of oak, cherry and a hint of grape. Swirling the glass helps show off the thick legs as they run down the sides.

Taste -
Initial taste of the Taylor is like a mix of cherry, grape and velvet candy exploding in your mouth, followed by a tingling warm sensation dancing over your taste buds.

Cigar Pairing -
I have found that a good port goes well with a strong cigar. I like the flavor enhancements that it creates when smoking a strong Maduro.
